Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026

1. Acceptance

Instl (the “Service”) is a free URL shortener operated by Instl Link Shortener (“we”, “us”). By using any feature of the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

The Service lets you shorten URLs, manually or programmatically: you submit a URL and receive a shortened link that redirects to it. The Service is provided free of charge and may change or be discontinued at any time.

3. Acceptable use

A URL you submit must not: (a) exceed 2,000 characters; (b) be a shortened version of another link; (c) point to malware, phishing, spam, fraud, or content that is illegal or infringes the rights of others. You must not use the Service to disguise the destination of harmful links or to send unsolicited messages.

4. “As is”; no warranty

The Service (including any information obtained through it) is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will meet your expectations or operate uninterrupted or error‑free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct or indirect damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service.

5. Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for the links you create and for your use of the Service, and you warrant that your actions comply with applicable law and do not violate the rights of third parties. You agree to resolve, at your own expense, any third‑party claim relating to your use of the Service, and to hold us and our partners harmless from such claims.

6. Licence to submitted URLs

To operate the Service, you grant us a non‑exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑free licence to store, process, reproduce and serve the URLs you submit for the purpose of providing the redirect and related functionality.

7. Suspension and removal

We may, at our sole discretion and without notice, remove any shortened link and suspend or terminate access to the Service, in particular for violations of these Terms.

8. Abuse reports

To report a malicious or abusive link shortened with the Service, contact abuse@instl.app.

9. Changes

We may change these Terms at any time without prior notice. The current version is always available at https://instl.app/terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
